The UAE has announced holidays for public sector workers holidays ahead of the 46th National Day and Commemoration Day, earlier known as Martyrs’ Day.
Government offices across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ali Ain and the rest of the United Arab Emirates will be closed from Thursday 30th of November till the 3rd of December, to celebrate 46 years since the founding of the UAE.
Celebrations will take place throughout the country in iconic spots such as Abu Dhai’s Corniche to commemorate the nationalisation from the British Protectorate. Schools across the United Arab Emirates will take part in the national celebrations with children dressing up in local attire and performing traditional dances.
While families celebrate they are encouraged to give their maids time off or time in lieu to celebrate UAE National Day with friends and colleagues.
